I'm speechless. My friends call me the cupcake queen because of my obsession with cupcakes. I can diet like nobodies business, but if someone sits a fluffy little morsel topped with decadent icing in front of me, it's over. I was recently in town visiting and assisted in the pickup of the cupcakes. I got home and opened these little babies and was surprised when I bit into the first one. Where I'm from, Lake Charles is a pretty small town, and I think I went into shock when I had my first taste of a genuine Jo's Party House cupcake! Let's start with the cake: soft and spongy, it had the spring and delicateness of angel food, but with all the flavor of vanilla cake. It's baked to perfection so it's not chewy or dry, but moist and airy, so it feels like you're biting into pure soft bliss. I'm not sure what different kinds of icing they had, but I had buttercream (my absolute fave) and it was the perfect blend! The icing was dyed, but you couldn't taste it, unlike a lot of other cupcakes. It's perfectly smooth, creamy and free of any grittiness I've been unfortunate to experience in the past. I LOVE this place! I even bought a small serving of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake (not too sweet, but sweet enough for sugar lovers). By far, this is one of the best cupcake places I've ever had the pleasure to sample. My only complaint is that I can't stop eating them!!! :)

No wonder over 6k people like them on Facebook. Their cupcakes are wonderfully light, fluffy, and delicious! Not over cooked and hard. Absolutely wonderful and hands down the best in town! And I've tried a lot around town. Friendly staff and I now have fell in love with carrot cake. I am definitely going to be using them again!

This is the best place in town for cakes and cupcakes. I have not found another place in the US which makes icing quite like they do. It's sweet, slightly tangy and goes wonderfully with their light cake. They will make cakes to order. They also sell cupcakes and small, heart shaped cakes out of their store. Every time I'm in town I make sure to go by and get a dozen cupcakes. It's just too bad they don't ship!

Ordered a cake 9 days in advance. Nice friendly workers. I picked up the cake on Friday & it was perfect! See the picture! My favorite cake of all time since 1980! Love it! Always an excellent cake! They also have cupcakes & sandwiches.

I've eaten cake from here all my life no doubt about it nobody comes close to Jo's cakes. If you buy a cake from here for no specific occasion then you and you alone have just created an occasion so cut the cake and chow babe!

If I get a cake, it comes from here. The best cake that I have ever had anywhere. I love to get a white cake and eat it with blue bell vanilla ice cream for my birthdays.
